Rodeo Rumble

It's time for the Rodeo Rumble. This is a race for kids at the Star Of Texas Rodeo. Last time we remembered to sign the kids up Sophie was 6 and Adam was 4.
We got there kind of early so this means one thing to me.....lots of time for pictures.

This is Miss. Rodeo Austin. There were lots of other Miss. Rodeo somethings but I liked her outfit the best. I wish you could see all the pink fringe of her sleeves. I have heard it's very slimming.

What cute boys. Daniel had taken the boys camping with the scouts the night before so Logan was still a little tired.

Still waiting for the race.

More waiting.

Sophie and Daniel waiting. Sophie was a little cold.

Sophie checking out all the cool cowboys.

Finally it was time for the race to start. Can you see Logan in the front and Carson behind him covering his ears?

Side note...Who knew you could get Wranglers in lime green.

Logan heading for the finish line.

Carson heading to the finish.

They made it. Don't you love their cow bell medals.

This is Sophie and Adam after they ran 8 years ago. I love this picture of Adam. It cracks me up every time I see it. Sophie was trying to be a great sister and Adam was so done.

This was the point in the day I got the award for worst mother.

When the kids were done running they could go over and get a free ice cream bar. Carson and Logan went over to pick one out and Logan came back with a strawberry ice cream bar in his mouth crying. He was trying to tell me something but I couldn't understand him with the bar in his mouth. Of course I didn't wait for him to take it out instead I reached up and grabbed it and said I couldn't understand him. Then he really started to cry and said the ice cream was stuck to his tongue and I just ripped it off.
What a great mom. My son came to me for help and I ripped skin off his tongue and made it bleed. So like any great mom I lied and said it wasn't bleeding and that he should go get a new ice cream and it would feel better. Guess what, it worked. No more crying.

After all that we decided to go to the pig races. As you will see I think the best part was the noses we all got.

Isn't it great the only picture of me is one with a pig snout.

After the races were over we went to take a look at the livestock.

Of course we had to check out the longhorns.

Sophie liked the little donkey the best.

There was also a little petting zoo. I think Carson had a little ice cream on his shirt because this goat kept following him around eating his shirt.

While Carson was watching the goat this lama gave him a little surprise.

Logan enjoyed this little chicken puppet. I think it could make a great Christmas gift.

Just a few more pictures of us 8 years ago.

  1. I have so many things I want to say about this post! But mostly I want to say I can't decided if I would rather wear the pig snout or some skin tight wranglers and a banner that says Miss something. Where was Adam?

  2. I too could make a million comments about this post. It's hilarious! Love the green wranglers, hope you asked her where to get a pair so you can wear them to next year's rodeo. (Or just about town) The pic of Soph and Adam from the past had tears rolling down my face! Love it! Definitely frame worthy. Last, perhaps if the only pic you have of yourself is wearing a snout, you should think twice about posting it. Just sayin'....
