Tradition

Our best family tradition is camping on Daniels birthday. We have gone every year for the last 10 years. Some years the weather is better than others but this year the weather was great. We did bring a little heater to use in the tent but we made it through the night.

I like to keep it simple so we always have hot dogs and chips for dinner.


Of course the kids are always excited to get to have a whole can of soda with there dinner.



I am not a big fan of hot dogs so I stuck with the can of pringles.

Logan enjoyed hanging out by the fire.

After dinner we broke out the Jiffy Pop. If you have never tried to pop this let me tell you it is very tricky. Alison and I tried really hard but still burnt ours.

Daniel seemed to have the magic touch. He was able to get all nice and popped. See how big his popcorn got. It was delicious.

Yummmm!

We forgot a bowl so we had to use a pan.

After the corn Sophie can up with a game for all the kids. I guess Adam got a question wrong and had to do push-ups.

Good Morning! Nothing like starting out the morning with a little Sunny Delight.

Alison made us all pancakes.

The boys enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate.

Sophie decided to go for the hot chocolate too.

Logan was very proud of this large stick he found for he fire.

Sophie took the dogs for a morning walk. Trixie isn't really used to being on a leash.

Time to go. Adam did a great job helping put the tent away. There should be some kind of scouting badge for that.

Everyone must go to the bathroom before we leave. Thanks for this picture Sophie.

As much fun as camping is I am always ready to go in the morning. Looks like maybe I should go to the bathroom before we leave too.
