Family Fun Day

Last Saturday was Family Fun Day. The kids were sick of going out on the boat and didn't want to work in the yard. I know that is a shocker, what kid doesn't love yard work. This is what we came up with instead.

It started with Carson going to the fire station to pass of some requirements for scouts. One of those thing was flag ceremony.

Then he got to check out the fire truck. This was the only part the kids really care about.

After we were done at the fire station we got the rest of the family and went to drive go karts. This was the first time for everyone and they were very excited. Only 2 Karts could go at a time so Sophie and Adam went first.

Buckle up for safety.

Watch out Danica Patrick.

Carson was just tall enough to drive his own car. He was very tired at the end because he had to really stretch to reach the gas.

What a combo.

Adam beat Sophie both times but she didn't have any hard feelings.

The cheering section.

Hot tired and done with racing. Off to the next activity.

After sweating to death in the hot sun we deiced to go sit in a cool theater. We were very excited for the movie Ponyo to come out because Sophie's 2 favorite movies are also by Miyazaki. Spirited Away and Howell's Moving Castle. If you haven't seen them you should, they are a little weird but really good. Ponyo was good too but still not as good as the other 2.
To end our day of fun we went out to dinner. This was really mainly for me because I had no desire to go home and cook. Of course we got Mexican, where else would our family go.

  3. Looks like you had a great day! And I also agree about the picture of you and Dan. The fire station pics were pretty good, too.
